Bradford White is a top company in the water heating industry. They have a full line of water heaters and each series is just as good if not better than the next. The Combi2 is a great system that is used for home use such as showers as well as drinking water. The Combi2 System is one of the Defender Safety Systems that Bradford White Features. The Defender System includes a Sight Window, so you can inspect your water heater from time to time and make sure that everything is in proper working order. The Defender System also offers a Resettable Thermal Switch in case something happens and you need to start the system again (power outage). The Combi2 is virtually maintenance free but it will need inspection at the beginning of the seasons like all heaters do. Some of the other great features of the Combi2 Water Heater are the low heat exchanger head loss. We mentioned the ” secret” to the Combi2 system earlier, the heat exchanger will use up to 10 gallons per minute with less than a 5-foot head loss. You will also find that the Combi2 System has Temperature and Pressure Relief Valves already installed onto the system. The system also has a drain valve and 2 anode aluminum rods. The unit comes with a factory installed dielectric waterway fittings and a HydroJet Total Performance System. The HydroJet Total Performance System is a cold-water inlet device that reduces the amounts of sediments and minerals that corrode a water heater. The HydroJet System will also help the first hour delivery of hot water increase. The unit is protected by a 2″ thick Non-CFC Foam Insulation. This will help keep the heat in.

Some of the more advanced features of the Combi2 design is the Separate Water Temperature Well. This combination that was designed to bring together the thermowell that provides the isolation of the temperature sensor and the water. With this feature you will never have to drain the tank when the tech needs to remove the gas valve. This will save you time and money. There is one model for the Combi2 System the C-DW2-75T10BN. This model has a 90-degree Fahrenheit Recovery Rise and a Natural Gas Input of 76,000 and a LP Gas Input BTUH of 76,000. The Propane model has a Titanium Stainless Steel Burner.   1. I have had the Combi2 TTW – C-DW2-TW75T10BN water heater in place for about a year and recently I tapped into the Heat Exchanger for my radiant setup in my basement. I currently have 1 zone feeding 5 lines of 1/2″ PEX tubing that were each about 250 ft long……….Installation went very well using the pump, expansion tank, controller, etc….from http://www.radiantcompany.com.

    I turned the water heater back on and then waited until the next day to kick the pump on…….The pump started running and the temperature gauge on the supply side read about 125…….after several minutes, the temperature gauges dropped to about 85 degrees and I noticed the waterheater does not kick back on.

    It’s almost like the thermostat for the water heater is only measuring the potable water and if that is not being used, it does not heat up the non-potable water for the heat exchanger??

    Is there something else I need to do, install, adjust for this??

  2. I have the same problem, it seems there is no way to get the heater to come on for a drop in heating water temperature,it just controls the domestic hot. There is no access to the sensors or any type of adjustment to the temperature control. I am trying to solve this problem,it is happening on the coldest days also so its related to the design set-up.
