  1. Curious to find out what the efficiency rating of a MST396 is when the internal baffles are not installed. Recently had one installed and when the workmen left I found the baffles off in a corner. Service manager said my chimney would not handle cooler gases produced when the baffles are in place, so they left them out. Would have liked to know that before making the decision to spend $8600 to install it.

  2. WHAT ARE THE PRICES OF YOUR BOILERS. HOW MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE IS A TANKLESS WATER HEATER. I HAVE A 4 BATHROOM HOUSE, CAN I USE A TANKLESS WATER HEATER. AT THE CURRENT TIME I HAVE TWO DIFFERENT FURNACES. THE ONE THAT WILL NEED REPLACING HAS THE WATER HEATER HOOKED TO IT. CAN I CONTINUE TO USE THAT HEATER, I BELIEVE IT IS FAIRLY NEW. lAST 10 YEARS.

  3. I can’t begin to say how much I hate the $8500 Mega Steam Oil Fired Boiler with the Beckett burner i have. this replaced a 7 year old Burnham V8 system. i have uneven heat in a single family 3 level home. i have had the service men so many times they should move and set up shop here. i am spending MORE for fuel because i have to use more to keep warm. can’t turn the temp lower than 70 degrees if so the place gets icey and the hot water although turned up to 185 is at the most warm and to get to warm i am using more water which i have to pay for because it takes 5 or more minutes for the hot water to run warm. i take baths and showers with all hot water. this lemon was put in this past december and from what i have been reading it won’t get better. how do you get this corrected. which is THE BEST burner/boiler out there today? no one is made of money least of all me.

  4. I have a Burnham Megasteam MST288SL-MB in a property we just purchased, was installed in Feb this year. Got it balanced reasonably well (as mentioned above). Problem is, it’s oil fired and we’d very much like to convert it to Natural Gas. Some contractors assert it’s not possible, others say no problem. Anyone on here seen it done successfully / know the actual part number of an appropriate gas burner for it?

    Thanks,
    Bob

  5. I removed a 8 layer Burnham less than 7 years old from my basement and surgically removed it incase I would need reassemble. I found that the upper rear section was pile of rust totally corroded and the leaking steam caused the exhaust ducts to close up with deposits. There are service dates and signatures of the unit being inspected and passed 2 years prior.
