EdenPure Heater TroubleShooting & Repair
If you have the EdenPure Heater and you are having some trouble with it, you might want to do something they call troubleshooting. When you troubleshoot your EdenPure Heater you will be diagnosing what is wrong with the heater so you can fix it and have nice warm heat again. Sometimes the problem is as easy as plugging the heater in because someone has accidently unplugged it, or sometimes the problem is a little more advanced like you may need to change one of the infrared bulbs inside of the unit. If you have any troubleshooting tips for others that you have learned along the way or need help yourself you can leave your questions and comments on the bottom of this Edenepure Heater TroubleShooting Repair Guide.
EdenPure Heater Won’t Heat The Room / Area
If your EdenPure Heater is not heating the room the first thing you will want to check is to make sure that the heater is plugged into the electrical outlet. Sometimes the cord can get unplugged by accident by someone else in the household. If the cord is plugged in you will also want to make sure that the circuit breaker has not been tripped. After you have made sure that the circuit is good and the EdenPure is plugged in you will now want to make sure you have no drafty doors or windows. If your doors or windows are leaking, that will cause the room to constantly be filling with cold air and could cause the EdenPure not to work. You have to remember this is a heater, Its not made to heat an area that has a wide open window / door etc.
Also you will have to note that this kind of personal (or zone) heater is originally designed for small area, which is about 300 ~ 400 sq ft. It is supplemental heat, and not to be replaced by the main source of heating system in the house.
If your floor materials are made of cement or tile, the time to warm up the room will be doubled as those kind of floor surfaces will absorb a lot of heat during the heat up process.
EdenPure Heater Infrared Bulb Replacement
From time to time you may have to change one of the infrared bulbs inside of the EdenPure Heater. You can buy a new infrared bulb for the Edenpure usually where these types of bulbs are sold. On the EdenPure Heater Review, Raymond says:

I have an eden pure model 1000 heater, It is extremely difficult to find any place to buy one of the quarts bulbs, I finally did find a dealer who also repairs them, The cost of each bulb was $ 18.00, and there is a total of 6 of these bulbs inside the heater with an additional bulb at the front of the heater. The bulbs are wired in series in pairs of two. So I ended up getting two bulbs for 36.00 dollars. I was able to install them myself, I have no idea what they would have charged me to put them in. I would love to know if there is anywere these bulbs can be bought for less than the $ 18.00 dollars. I found a set of three on ebay for $ 56.00 dollars.
So if your bulbs do need to be replaced you can see that even Raymond was able to change these bulbs himself for under $40. Off course you could always hire the local EdenPure Repair shop to replace the bulbs inside of the heater for you if you are not that handy, or do not have the time.
Heater Fan Blows Cold Air
The manufacturer originally designed the heater to blow out all the heat inside the unit approximately every 3 minutes, if the unit recognizes the desired temperature has been met in the room. This can also happen when the heater goes into a cool down mode, for example if you power it off. So wait for a little bit once you turned it on, check to see if the unit has been running for a while and if it still blows the cold air.
The Fan Or Unit Won’T Turn Off
First off, check to ensure that you have turn the master power switch to OFF position manually. As explained above, the fan will still run even after you turned off the unit. It is designed as such, until the heat chambers have completely cooled down. Then the fan will shut off by itself after a few minutes, so don’t be alarmed by this behavior.
Cleaning The EdenPure Heater
You can clean your EdenPure Heater with some general household products and a set of rags. You will want to keep your EdenPure Heater clean and free of all dust and dirt, so not only will your heater look good, but other people will not think you are a slob. You can apply your favorite household cleaner to a rag and then wipe down the outside of the EdenPure Heater and you will have one good looking heater even if it doesn’t work as you expected. It still makes one heck of a conversation piece when you have company over and then suddenly there is a loss of words in the room.
ALL THESE PEOPLE INCLUDING ME HAS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR EDENPURE HEATER. IT COMES ON BUT BLOWS OUT COLD AIR. BULBS BEEN CHECKED AN ARE FINE. WHY CANT SOMEONE TELL US ALL HOW TO FIX THE HEATER?? IT MUST BE A COMMON PROBLEM CAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM
Did you ever get any type of reply or feedback on how to solve this no heat issue after replacing the heat tubes? There has to be something that is not allowing the heat mode to reach temp. The owners manual is of no help either. Any feedback would be a help.
Thank you..
clean the filters in the back. we have had ours foe 12 plus years
I have a Gen4 4643rtl that has an output temperature on high of 135F with an ambient temperature of 66.9F. Is this normal or have some of the bulbs gone bad or perhaps the thermostat? I have read a great deal on this site and am both saddened and appreciative of your experiences and sharing. I am going to be tearing this apart soon and would be very interested in your thoughts. Thanks Sam
I have an older model 1000XL. The problem is that it will go through a heat cycle (room cool, heater comes on, heats room, reaches temp, shuts off). After a long time, HOURS it will not heat up again. It will ‘reset itself’ if I unplug the unit. I have tried just shutting off the unit, no change. I have heard a slight click after the unit is unplugged for a few minutes. Turn it back on, 3 beeps then set to desired temp. Whole thing starts again. The filter is clean. I am wondering if its a sensor of some kind or even the control board. Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so, were you able to fix it and how. Thanks in advance for any help.
Its the Temp Sensor… 5 screws on bottom of unit, Guts slides out of the unit. replace the sensor on the top should have blue wires on it.. go to the Edenpure site for the parts… I would only use Edenpur parts on these.. hope this helps
Had the same problem put a new temp sensor and thermostat in still runs on start up heats up then shuts off, unplug for five minutes same thing
I have a EdenPure gen 3. It has worked fine until this season. Those who write the repairs suggestion must think they are working with some really stupid people. If it only got unplugged any idiot would know to plug it in. Mine has worked great for several years. I followed instructions and replaced all the heating elements but no change in the gen 3 production. It is of course plugged in and does turn on, the fan is working great. The light comes on. Manually or with the remote tthe temperatures can be adjust and the mode changed. What is wrong? It does not heat as it did before. Low and insufficient heat. Does not shut of because it never riches the temperature.
my remote control does not work. changed the battery and that did not help
where can i buy one
I have an Eden Pure Infared Portable heater that is blowing ZERO heat. Displays on front work fine and fan motor blowing. Does this have an inline fuse or breaker of some sort? It is 4 years old but has not been used for the past 2 years. Cant fine my manuel to look any
of this up. Thanks for any suggestions.
Just changed all my bulbs, still works the same way low heat only two bulbs are on. Fan works good. Front lights all work like they are should. Any suggestions? Thanks for any suggestions.
My heater which is model usa1000, keeps blowing my fuse, it heats for about 15 min then blows the electrical fuse. It worked just fine for about 2 years when I received it from my parents.
My empire infrared heater Just quit.will not Come on.plugged it into several outlets but nothing happens.no lights heater nothing.please helps
My heater never turns off by itself even when I have it on auto and the lowest setting. It also turns on by itself after it has been powered down and done a cooling cycle. Have had it one year and never worked right but have lost the receipt, it’s a model 1000 and would not recommend anyone waste their money on one!
plug it in Light BLIND and shut off
I have a EdenPure Gen 4. I was having some heating problems with it so I got the heating elements replaced. It was working fine for a while but I started having problems with it again. Whenever I set it to the desired temp. depending on the weather it will work fine for some time then it will start blowing cool air. Even when it’s really cold out and you need it set at high, really it tends to happen no matter where you have it set at. I have tried turning it off and letting itself blow out the rest of the cool air til it shuts itself off, then wait for a bit before I turn it back on. It will then work fine for say 10 min’s or so but then go right back to blowing cool. I have tried doing all the above and evening unplugging it before turning it back on some time later, but it still happens. Neither way seems to work for long. I have no idea what it could be that is causing it to happen. The heating elements were replaced less then a yr ago. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.
My Eden pure heater would blow hot air for about an hour and then switch to cold air. If I unplugged it and then plugged it back in again, it’d do the same thing…leaving the room cold. I noticed a lot of other people with the same trouble. Today I washed off the filter on back, and it fixed the problem! Hope this works for you, too!
