For the last 4 weeks I’ve had a green tint to my pool. Ive tried SUPER CHLORINATING, brushing algae off the walls EVERYDAY! Vaccumming EVERYDAY! Shocking….and Back washing EVERYDAY! Yesterday Oct 10th, 2010 I went to my local HOME DEPOT and decided to buy 1 22.5 lbs bucket of Chlorinating Granules and 2 lbs of Yellow Gone (www.yellowgone.com) Today my pool is BLUE!!!!!! Here are the exact steps I tookd:

1. Backwashed my sand filter for 3 minutes
2. Rinsed my sand filter for 30 seconds
3. Turned my pool euipment back to filer and let my pool cleaner (barracuda G3) continue to run.
3. Brushed all pool walls, steps and pool floor
4. Sprinkled around the edges 4 pounds of YELLOW GONE
5. Waited 5 minutes, added 5 lbs of CHLORINATING GRANULES, aroudn the edges.
6. Kept pool pump, filter and automatic cleaner running all night.
7. This morning it was blue!!!!! A little cloudy, but I will add a Clarifier this morning to fix that.

I hope that might help you, as all this time ive been spending hours online researching and a lot of elbow work trying to get my pool blue again.

If you have a distributor in Naples, I need the name of the store. We had to get a
new filter for our 12 x 24 inground pool 3 weeks ago. we have had the water checked weekly and followed the directions, but it still has a green cast to the water & it was very clean before. The filter was completely rinsed off again – 3 days ago, but we need another treatment with yellow out. Any directions or comments will be appreciated.

Thanks
