is there a way to clean an impeller thats not so easy to reach . My spa motor is running but the water is not moving help

Hi Kent,

The impeller could wear out but chances are its just clogged and just needs to be cleaned. You can do so by removing the Hayward Super Pump Housing and then you will need to pull off the pump diffuser and then you can clean the impeller out with a small screwdriver or a small piece of wire like a close hanger. Sometimes rocks, long grass and other stuff slips though a skimmer basket with a small crack etc and over time the impeller will gather a bunch of debris.

We have a suction problem with a Hayward Super Pump. It will barely and sometimes not all the time sweep dirt off the pool floor. It is about 5 years old and used to work fine. Can the impeller wear out?
What can I do to troubleshoot it?
