If you have changed the washers on the faucet you did great. There is also another adjustment you can make on the outdoor hose bib or spigot. You will see a nut that is around the valve stem, under that nut is something called “packing”. By tightening down this packing nut you can get the valve stem from leaking.
If you have tightened the valve stem and replaced the washers and you still have a leaking hose bib, it might be time to just replace it.
