Subject: “Backwash leaking”

Joseph,

Well we had been having trouble timing the issue last night it made it until dark before doing it. We seem to have had a case of head inserted in well you know. Problem is fixed had the hoses backwards just goes to show even after 8 years of messing with this pool you can still make huge mistakes, bad thing is, is that the stickers were right there!!! Thanks for the help and we will refer people to this site you guys are great at response time!! Didn’t mean to waist you time either!!

Thanks Michael!

Subject: “Air Pocket In Lines”

Dear Joseph,

It appears that the problem with the one pool return must have been an air pocket. When we turned on the filter to the pool today, the return began working again – so all 3 are now functioning. We did backwash again just in case once we were satisfied that everything was working. I guess it is like a computer – when in doubt, reboot!!

Thanks so much for your assistance!
Joan

Subject: “pool light ”

Good morning Joseph,

Well, believe it or not, I got the pool light re-wired!!

Once again, thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions. Had it not been for your advice, I would have had an electrician here tomorrow at 2.

My best,
Michael

Thank you for your help and suggestions, it was your idea that resulted in me finally locating the air leak. I really appreciate it and want you to know that your website is very, very informative and helpful. I think I’ve learned more about pools in the past 10 days while looking for this air leak that I’ve learned since installing the pool so I guess something good came out of this after all.

Thanks again!

  1. bearings went out in the waterfall elect motor, disconnected the 240 volt wires to the motor, we had home warranty pool co come out and check out the motor, they turned in the job as complete, but left the wires disconnected,we call the home warranty co. and they said the job was complete, so i hooked the 240 volt motor up, when i turned the controls on, the circuit board started smoking, the bearings had not been replaced, and the motor was froze up. i replaced the motor and replaced the circuit board ( jandy 3652 circuit board ) the motor still does not work. i checked the voltage coming out of the 3652 circuit board 0 volts phase to phase, 120 volt phase to ground on both hot legs, it should have been 240 volts, the old motor i replaced was wired for 240 on the back, the control box has a 24 volt relay that clicks when you turn the waterfall pump on,
