Question:
Hi,
We just bought a house that has a pool and the motor makes those beeping sounds every minute..it has a salt water system too but the previous owner was using chlorine and so are we, a friend said that it needs servicing for the salt water, but we have not even used the salt water system so what should we do? The pool has been running on chlorine only so how do we fix this beeping sound, PLEASE HELP !!Thanks, Meena
Answer:
Hi Meena,
You probably are hearing the low salt indicator as you said or the service required needed indicator If your not using the salt water system then you can shut it off and the beeping sound will stop.
You can also hire a pool guy to remove it from the plumbing system if you like or if you feel that you will not be using it in the future.
You alternatively can learn how to use it during the off season and then use it next year. For now you can just shut off the power source and I am sure it will stop beeping. If you still cannot figure out how to turn it off you can send me some pictures of the filter system and then I can help you further.
You can also let me know what brand and model it is as well and I then can show you the instructions etc.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional help, you can leave me more comments below

Hi Joseph,
Thanks for the prompt reply, I will get back to you with the picture of the pump etc. coz I can’t see any switch that can be turned off :(
Also, I would really appreciate it if you could please tell me the advantages of switching to salt water system instead of using the cholorine one, since we do have the option? I have no idea about it so would really welcome your input.
I am so glad that you take the questions posted seriously and do such a good job of helping people!
Thanks………..!

Hi Meena,
You can send the photos to use using our contact page and I will upload them and describe what you can do, I can even possibly show you how to remove or replace it if you wanted to and if your handy.
As far as the whole “Salt System Vs Chlorine” well thats a tough one and it really depends on preference, let me give you an example. If you or someone you know suffers from dry skin from Chlorine then salt may be right for you as they say the water is softer.
