    my sister just bought one on monday the 25 of Jan – is she still eligible for the stimulus and if so how will it work for her ?….She purchased her hot water tank through their oil man and paid $1800.00 for it.. At this time as I write I do not know the brand name… please advise any and all information

      Hi Angela,
      I can’t say for certain without checking your states rebate program details such as the dates of the programs and what water heaters are covered in your states rebate program. I believe most of the emphasis of the rebate programs for water heaters are in the direction of heat pump electric water heaters and high efficiency gas water heaters but as I stated earlier you need to check your states individual program coverage.

      In some cases heating system appliances may have coverage under the weatherization assistance program depending on your sisters income level which determines eligibility for the program.

      She may also be eligible for a 30% tax credit up to $1500 which should also be investigated.
