If your wondering what a Loop Loc Pool cover is then you have come to the right place. The Loop Loc Pool Safety Cover is a pool cover that is made for above and in ground swimming pools. This type of cover is different from the traditional pool cover because it attaches to the swimming pool in a completely different way. The traditional style winter swimming pool covers lay on top of the pool water and is help down by either water bags or water blocks.

The traditional style pool cover also is made from solid material so when it rains or snows the water, ice and snow will collect on top of the pool cover. Once the water collects on top of the solid pool cover you will need to pump the water off otherwise the water on top of the cover will attract birds, animals and off course also look horrible.

So if you where to install a new loop loc cover you would need to lower the water in the pool around 18″ inches or so to account for the additional water that will be draining into the swimming pool. The nice part about the Loop Loc cover is that you will not have to pump the water from the top of the cover like you would with a traditional solid material pool cover. The downside of this is that all of that rain / snow water is draining into your pool over the course of the winter and you could wind up with a green swimming pool if your chemicals are not properly balanced before you close and cover your pool.

So both the Loop Loc Cover and the traditional sold swimming pool cover have there benefits and there downsides. If you are looking for Safety, and ease of use during the winter then the Loop Loc cover could be for you. If you do not mind pumping the water off of your pool cover during the winter and Safety is not a concern then the traditional sold swimming pool cover may be your best bet.
