Liberty Pumps 250 Series Effluent Pump

WeT HeaD Knowledge

Liberty Pumps have a wide range of pumps in their inventory. They carry everything from Sump Pumps, Back-Up Sump Pumps, Utility Pumps and Effluent Pumps just to name a few. One of their most popular pump styles is the Effluent Pump, more specifically the 250 Series Cast Iron Submersible Sump/ Effluent Pump. One of the great features of the Series 250 Pumps is they have a quick disconnect power cord and the pump is coated with an epoxy powder for long life.

There are 4 pumps in the 250 Series; each one has a different specification that the others do not. The first is Model 250, it is a manual pump and there is no switch. The Model 251 has a quick disconnect, a wide-angle float and it is 100% mercury free. Model 253 has a wide-angle float with a series piggyback plug. This pump is controlled with a manual operation. The Model 257 VMF has a Liberty Pump patented VMF Switch. The pump is magnetically operated with a vertical float and runs on a 10″ diameter sump. But all Models in the 250 Series have some of the same standard features. All of the pumps in the 250 Series uses 1/3 horsepower, motor oil filled motor with thermal overload protection. The motor also runs on 115 volts, 5.2 amps and 60 Hz. The Maximum Fluid Temperature is 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The pump is compact and will not take up much room, the height of the pump 10.5″ and the width is 9.6 inches.

These pumps are capable of handling 1/2″ solid material. The series pumps all have a 1-1/2″ discharge. The pump shafts are all constructed from a 416 stainless steel rotor shaft. Unlike other pumps the Liberty Pump Series 250 has a one of a kind, one-piece pump body, this rids the need for a motor housing and a seal ring, which eliminates leaks. The pump is equipped with permanent sealed and lubricated bearings. This will also eliminate the risk of the bearings seizing up. The Impeller is a Vortex style which means the impeller can handle even the hardest solids that pass through the pump. Other pumps can’t handle the more solid materials but Liberty Pumps are up to the challenge. The parts are easy to access; all of the fasteners are made of a non-corrosive stainless steel. Liberty Pumps offer a 2-year limited warranty. If you want to read all about the warranties on the Series 250 check out their website.

If you are looking for a sump pump that can handle a lot of solids, choose Liberty Pumps. If the Series 250 doesn’t meet your needs, there are plenty other pumps in the Liberty Pump Inventory that can do the job. Talk to your local plumber and HVAC Company and ask them about the Liberty Series 250 Pumps. If you want to do some more research, you can find other Liberty Pumps here or on the Liberty Pumps website.
