The Liberty Pump Series 280 Submersible Effluent Pump has 2 different styles of pumps, the 115V and the 208-230 Volt. The Model 280 is a 115 volt and it is a manual pump, the Model 283 is a Wide Angle Float with a Series Plug and a 115 V. The Model 287 VMF is a vertical magnetic float that is used on the more heavy-duty applications.
The 208-230 V models include the 280HV model, which is a manual pump, the 281 HV Wide Angle Float with a Quick Disconnect. The 283HV Wide Angle Float with a Series Plug and the 287HV is a vertical magnetic float switch. The wide-angle floats are mercury free floats and they can be mechanically activated. There is nothing on this pumping system that is not made from 100% quality materials.The motor specs on all pump models are 1/2 horsepower, 60 Hz, 3450 rpm. The motors are all oil filled and thermally protected. The motors that use a 115 v use a 10-amp range and the 208-230 volt motors use 5 amps. All of the models in the 280 Series have a 416 stainless steel rotor shaft. The seals have a carbon and ceramic mechanical face seal. The coating on the pump has an epoxy powder coat finish.
All of the fasteners are corrosion proof and made from stainless steel. The stainless steel bottom screen is made to be removed very easily, no more struggling to take the parts off. The Model 280 is a manual pump with no switch, the Model 281 is a wide angle with float switch with a quick disconnect. The Model 283 is a wide-angle float switch with a piggyback plug. The Model 287VMF-Series is a vertical magnetic float that is used for smaller pits but they will work in a 10″ sump pit.
All of the models have a Vortex style impeller. This design allows solids up to 3/4″ to pass through the pump. The pump shaft and all of the hardware in the Model 280 Series are made from Stainless Steel. The thermal overload is rated at 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The Max Liquid Temperature is 60 degrees Celsius. One of the great features of these pumps is that they have a wide range of low to medium head range.
