How To Make A Bathroom Beautiful

WeT HeaD Knowledge

When I moved into my new apartment I was not happy with the colors of the bathroom at all. They were white and yellow with a black marble floor. If you can imagine how boring it looks, you would want to change it too. After a while, I decided I could not take the dreariness of the bathroom anymore. The rest of the apartment had windows and looked spacious and nice after new curtains and a coat of paint. I never really cared so much what a bathroom looked like until I moved here.

I am not a huge fan of yellow anything, especially as a color on my walls or bathroom fixture. Even the toilet was yellow! So we decided to get rid of the yellow toilet and install a brand new white toilet. This was a good place to start; the bathtub and the walls in the shower are yellow too. Since I was not going to spend the rest of my life in this apartment I decided not to really put a lot of money into the bathroom.

The only thing I could do was to choose a paint that would work well with yellow. There were white and light shades of green to choose from. There was a night warm beige color that worked well. We decided to go with that and if we wanted to change it to a lighter color later, we could. So the bathroom walls were painted and the shower walls and tub were still yellow. The only thing that you can really do at this point is to clean the heck out the walls and tub to try to bring some shine back. This tub looked like it was from the 70’s. After an hour of trying to bring back some shine, I realized that it was not working.

The only thing to do at this point and not spend a lot of money was to find a nice white or beige color shower curtain. The curtain had to be long enough to cover the tub but not drag on the floor. Walmart is a great place to find these items. Next, our bathroom did not have towel racks so we installed a towel rack to the wall and bought some color coordinated towels. Now the bathroom started to look nice.

The only thing left to do was the bathroom tile. I am in the process of deciding what color will work best with the bathroom. These tiles that are on the floor now were purchased only who knows where but they are dark and dull. I am thinking of possibly a nice white color or something to bring out as much light as I can. They say people spend more time in the bathroom than in any other room in their hours on a yearly basis, I do not know if that is true but every room of your house should have the look that you want it to. By starting small and not going crazy with spending there is definitely a way to accomplish that.
