How To Choose An Artificial Christmas Tree

WeT HeaD Knowledge

There are many things to think about when buying an Artificial Christmas Tree. The first thing you will want to do before you buy the tree is to determine where you are going to set it up after you buy it. Once you have picked a location for your Artificial Christmas Tree you will want to measure the height of the ceiling and also the width of the area. Once you have the height and the width of the area you will want to make sure there is also an electrical outlet near by so you can plug the lights on the tree in. If there is no electrical socket near the area that you will be setting the tree up, you then will also have to put an extension cord onto your shopping list. Most companies that make indoor extension cords will sell green extension cords to match the green on your tree light wires.

After you have measured the areas of where you will be setting up your Christmas you will off course know how big of a Christmas Tree you will need. But you have to remember that if you have an 8 foot ceiling you will not want to buy an 8 foot tall tree because you will not have any room to place the Angel , Star Of David or any other tree topper on top of the tree. You will always want to buy an artificial Christmas Tree that is 1 foot shorter then the height of your ceiling. The exact height and width of the tree you are buying should be labeled on the side of the box. Make sure that the measurement they provide includes the height of the tree when it is sitting in the Christmas Tree stand.

Multi-Colored Lights Vs White Lights

Pre-Lit Christmas Trees are sold with two different styles of lights. You can buy the artificial tree with colored lights, multi-colored lights and also all white lights. You can usually get the same tree for the same price with multi-colored or white lights. If you are looking to buy an artificial tree with just one light color you may have to pay extra if they even make that model with all one color lights. If they don’t make the tree in lets say all blue lights you then could buy packs of replacement tree light bulbs and replace the colors of the lights you don’t like with blue bulbs. You can turn your Christmas Tree into any color you want if replacement colored bulbs are sold for that model.

Tree With Music & Light Controls

Another feature that many Pre-lit Artificial Christmas Trees have to offer are a built in music sounds system. Depending on the brand and model of tree you buy will depend on the sounds and music the tree will actually play. Many trees come equipped with a music system that plays the most popular Christmas songs like Jingle Bells, Frosty The Snowman, Silent Night and many other favorites. Most trees will also come with an adjustment knob so you can control the volume of the music.

Assembly & Storage Of The Artificial Tree

Just because the tree looks good in the store does not mean that the Artificial Christmas Tree will look that good year after year. What is often overlooked when purchasing an Artificial Christmas Tree is how it is assembled and dis-assembled. Many of the more expensive trees will have color coded sections and have a full instruction manual so you can easily put the tree up for the holidays and take it down with ease. Many Artificial Christmas Tree manufacturers also offer a tree storage bag that you can buy when you are purchasing your tree. This tree storage bag makes packing the tree away for the off season a breeze and also protects the tree from dust and damage while being stored in an attic, crawl space or even shed or garage.

How Much Should I Pay For My Artificial Christmas Tree?

With all the many features and bells and whistles that Artificial Christmas Trees offer there is no exact price you should pay. Artificial Christmas Trees can be as inexpensive as $39 dollars and  be as expensive as $2000+ or more dollars depending how realistic the tree looks, what types of lights in included, the size of the tree and also off course what company makes the tree. The best way to figure out what tree is right for you is to first figure out how much you can afford to spend. Remember that you will only be using your tree for a couple of weeks and then your going to store it. Don’t spend all your money on just the tree. You also want to make sure that you get a tree with all the features you and your family want.
