How I (Stacey) Load the Washing Machine

I never thought it matter how I loaded my washing machine but depending on how you do it, will determine how much you can fit. For example, did you know that you could fit more towels into a washing machine if you strategically place them in the washing machine the right way? After many years of doing loads and loads of laundry, I have discovered a new way to load my washing machine. Let’s start with shirts and pants, it really will save you some space if you take the shirts and pants and turn them right side right rather than inside out. By straightening out the clothes they will lay flatter in the machines, the same goes for socks too.

Now, for towels rather than just throw them in the washing machine, try to place them around the spinner. You will find that you will fit more towels and they will actually come out cleaner. Why just throw them in and when they don’t come out soft and clean, you will just have to do them again. It would best to do them all at once the right way. Washing machines are more technologically advanced these days than ever before, plus they have larger washing capacities to make doing laundry a more energy efficient process. But if you have an older model like me then you have to try to load the washing machine most effectively. The goal is to try to get the clothes to come out clean and get the most amount of clothes in it.

It is a good idea to choose a good laundry soap too. Using a no name brand may be great for the price but will it get your clothes clean. There are some products on the market such as Tide that have concentrated formulas that promise to get more clothes clean for less detergent. Do some shopping online and check out the different brands of laundry soaps. Now, one of the hardest things and the most annoying things in laundry is the sheets. How many sheets do you think that you can fit in your machine? If you place them around the spinner then you can fit a couple of sets in there plus pillow cases and shams too.

You may need to do some experimenting when it comes to loading your laundry to the washing machine. Once you have found your method you can really cut down the amount of time that you spend doing laundry. Before you know you will have loading the washing machine down to a science. You may soon see that you will save water and energy by cutting back on the amount of time that you do laundry.
