How I (Arlene) Wonder what these things..

WeT HeaD Knowledge

What does a piece of glass, a roofing nail, a dime, a bread tie, and a bone all have in common?  Give up?

These are, according to the world of a plumber, things he found that were jammed in a garbage disposal by a homeowner who then said, ” I wonder how that got down in there?”

As a homeowner, the homeowner,  and the owner of a garbage disposal and a mother of 2 small kids, and one larger kid I call my husband,  I can tell you how it all gets jammed down in there easily, really.

The larger kid is working outside on the roof and he comes in for a cool drink, so he sits down his nails he was using for the roof.  I come along and pick up some plates and glasses and the nail or nails gets swished into the sink, getting pushed into the disposal.

The smaller kid comes and gets a drink breaking the glass and rather than tell mom, he pushes the broken glass down the disposal.

Number 2 son comes along and just thinks it is a garbage can, after all, it is called, ” a garbage disposal”  and who can argue with reason?

It is what it is to a five year old kid,

To a six year old kid,

To a 49 year old kid.

and, then… to a plumber it takes on a whole different meaning.
