EdenPure Heater TroubleShooting & Repair
If you have the EdenPure Heater and you are having some trouble with it, you might want to do something they call troubleshooting. When you troubleshoot your EdenPure Heater you will be diagnosing what is wrong with the heater so you can fix it and have nice warm heat again. Sometimes the problem is as easy as plugging the heater in because someone has accidently unplugged it, or sometimes the problem is a little more advanced like you may need to change one of the infrared bulbs inside of the unit. If you have any troubleshooting tips for others that you have learned along the way or need help yourself you can leave your questions and comments on the bottom of this Edenepure Heater TroubleShooting Repair Guide.

EdenPure Heater Won’t Heat The Room / Area

If your EdenPure Heater is not heating the room the first thing you will want to check is to make sure that the heater is plugged into the electrical outlet. Sometimes the cord can get unplugged by accident by someone else in the household. If the cord is plugged in you will also want to make sure that the circuit breaker has not been tripped. After you have made sure that the circuit is good and the EdenPure is plugged in you will now want to make sure you have no drafty doors or windows. If your doors or windows are leaking, that will cause the room to constantly be filling with cold air and could cause the EdenPure not to work. You have to remember this is a heater, Its not made to heat an area that has a wide open window / door etc.

Also you will have to note that this kind of personal (or zone) heater is originally designed for small area, which is about 300 ~ 400 sq ft. It is supplemental heat, and not to be replaced by the main source of heating system in the house.

If your floor materials are made of cement or tile, the time to warm up the room will be doubled as those kind of floor surfaces will absorb a lot of heat during the heat up process.

EdenPure Heater Infrared Bulb Replacement

From time to time you may have to change one of the infrared bulbs inside of the EdenPure Heater. You can buy a new infrared bulb for the Edenpure usually where these types of bulbs are sold. On the EdenPure Heater Review, Raymond says:

I have an eden pure model 1000 heater, It is extremely difficult to find any place to buy one of the quarts bulbs, I finally did find a dealer who also repairs them, The cost of each bulb was $ 18.00, and there is a total of 6 of these bulbs inside the heater with an additional bulb at the front of the heater. The bulbs are wired in series in pairs of two. So I ended up getting two bulbs for 36.00 dollars. I was able to install them myself, I have no idea what they would have charged me to put them in. I would love to know if there is anywere these bulbs can be bought for less than the $ 18.00 dollars. I found a set of three on ebay for $ 56.00 dollars.

So if your bulbs do need to be replaced you can see that even Raymond was able to change these bulbs himself for under $40. Off course you could always hire the local EdenPure Repair shop to replace the bulbs inside of the heater for you if you are not that handy, or do not have the time.

Heater Fan Blows Cold Air

The manufacturer originally designed the heater to blow out all the heat inside the unit approximately every 3 minutes, if the unit recognizes the desired temperature has been met in the room. This can also happen when the heater goes into a cool down mode, for example if you power it off. So wait for a little bit once you turned it on, check to see if the unit has been running for a while and if it still blows the cold air.

The Fan Or Unit Won’T Turn Off

First off, check to ensure that you have turn the master power switch to OFF position manually. As explained above, the fan will still run even after you turned off the unit. It is designed as such, until the heat chambers have completely cooled down. Then the fan will shut off by itself after a few minutes, so don’t be alarmed by this behavior.

Cleaning The EdenPure Heater

You can clean your EdenPure Heater with some general household products and a set of rags. You will want to keep your EdenPure Heater clean and free of all dust and dirt, so not only will your heater look good, but other people will not think you are a slob. You can apply your favorite household cleaner to a rag and then wipe down the outside of the EdenPure Heater and you will have one good looking heater even if it doesn’t work as you expected. It still makes one heck of a conversation piece when you have company over and then suddenly there is a loss of words in the room.

    • Remove the 5 Rear cover screws and cover first. Then the lower outer case screws on the bottom then slide the case forward.

      • I think there is more to it than this withg a gen 4.
To remove the top/side panel housing without bending it you must first remove the front cover.
The plasic front cover is held in place by four things:
        1. The screw on the bottom of the front panel in the center – remove it.
        2. There are two screws behind the control panel. The control panel simply clicks into place and is held at four points two along the top and two along the bottom of the control panel “housing” – remove by sliding a thin flat screwdriver along the top and carefuly pop it out. Be careful with the wires.
        3. The are tabs that need to be released at the bottom left and right sides. These are accessed by removing the front wheels – then you can reach in and realease the tabs by slightly pressing down on them.
4.At the top, two thin tabs slide into slots in the metal frame. The panel can be slid off of these after it is freed at the bottom. Pull the bottom of the panel out far enough for the mounting point at the bottom to clear and then push up on the panel. The control panel should be able to be turned at an angle that will let it pass through the panel without removing it from it’s housing.

I hope this is clear enough as it was a frusrating guessing game for me too; I certainly did not see how it worked to begin with.

  1. My heater, I’ve loved, however, lately when I turn it on it clicks over and over , instead of turning on. I have an a3713 model. What could be wrong?

  2. I have a Model A3705 that has no power to the unit. The power light does not light up and is plugged into the wall. Is it cause a bulb is broke?

  3. Fan stopped and heating stopped all that comes on is the off and on switch light … Dont want to buy any parts I wont need as they are expensive how do I trouble shoot to find out if its the fan or the quartz elements ?

  4. I have a USA 1000. I unplug it moved from one rm to another went to plug it back in Now when I plug it in it blows the breaker went back to the first outlet blows that one now? Could you please help me

    • If the unit got bumped to hard, the element tubes can break and short out inside the unit. You will need to have the inside looked at to see what the conditions are.

  5. I have an Edenpure 1000XL. It turns on and works fine for 5 minutes. Then it turns off and will not come back on until it is unpluged and restarted after 10 minutes. How do I fix the problem?

    • I am finding that the heating relay on the rear circuit board goes bad. I’m trying to find the correct connections on this board. You will probably need the rear circuit board replaced if the blower is working and no or little heat is blowing out. the two single white wires should be on the first and second connectors from the right labeled HEAT. the double black wires should be connected on the third and forth connectors from the right labeled LOW HEAT. I believe they were wired wrong from the factory. Remember they have a 5 year warrenty.

  6. My heater won’t turn on anymore. I’ve tried unplugging it and back and and changing the different walls and making sure nothing is behind it or nothing else is plugged in at the same time. But the only thing my heater will do is make a beep sound and turn off within a second of me pushing the power button. Anyone know what to do? These aren’t mine, they are my landlords who let me borrow them until my heat gets fixed.

  7. I was told that the Edenpure Gen 4 are a troubled unit by the Edenpure parts store. My Model A4428 has gone through 3 circuit boards in 2 years. The problem seems to be the HEAT relay is only a 5AMP and burns out quickly not turning on the heat. I’m looking into modifying this relay for longer service. The LOW HEAT relay is a 15AMP relay. So I am wondering is the Low Heat relay supposed to run 2 Element bulbs and the Heat relay is to run the single third element bulb? It would seem more logical per Amp Load.

  8. I have an EDENPURE SIGNATURE SERIES heater and when I plug it in it comes on and starts to heat up. The fan will come on like normal and then after about a minute or two you hear a loud click. I opened the unit up and found the heat sensor and unplugged the unit and then plugged it back in and turned it back on. I noticed the loud click came from the heat sensor when it opened the circuit which shut off the heating elements. Is it safe to assume that the sensor is bad?
