You buy an Energy Star Rated appliance such as a new refrigerator, washing machine, water heater, oil and gas furnace or freezer just to name a few and the state will give you a rebate anywhere from $ 50 to $ 200. Simply shop at your regular appliance store; there will not be any special locations where you have to buy these appliances. Find an Energy Star Rated appliance and mail in your rebate.
What appliances qualify for the Cash for Appliances Rebate Program?
While it is expected that refrigerators will be the most popular in sales for the State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program or Cash for Appliances, there are many other appliances that will qualify as well. According to the Program, appliances that will qualify you for these rebates are Central Air Conditioners, Clothes Washers, Dishwashers, Freezers, Oil and Gas Furnaces, Room Air Conditioners, Geothermal and Air Source Heat Pumps and Water Heaters.
Keep in mind that you just cannot go to a store and buy a new washing machine and expect a Cash For Appliance. These appliances must be Energy Star Certified.
