I have the same problem, it seems there is no way to get the heater to come on for a drop in heating water temperature,it just controls the domestic hot. There is no access to the sensors or any type of adjustment to the temperature control. I am trying to solve this problem,it is happening on the coldest days also so its related to the design set-up.

I have had the Combi2 TTW - C-DW2-TW75T10BN water heater in place for about a year and recently I tapped into the Heat Exchanger for my radiant setup in my basement. I currently have 1 zone feeding 5 lines of 1/2" PEX tubing that were each about 250 ft long……….Installation went very well using the pump, expansion tank, controller, etc….from http://www.radiantcompany.com.

I turned the water heater back on and then waited until the next day to kick the pump on…….The pump started running and the temperature gauge on the supply side read about 125…….after several minutes, the temperature gauges dropped to about 85 degrees and I noticed the waterheater does not kick back on.

It's almost like the thermostat for the water heater is only measuring the potable water and if that is not being used, it does not heat up the non-potable water for the heat exchanger??

Is there something else I need to do, install, adjust for this??
