Bosch AquaStar 2400E/EO Tankless Water Heater

bosch aquastar 2400e ng tankless water heater The Bosch AquaStar 2400E/EO Tankless Water Heaters are the same water heater but the model E is for indoor installs and the EO is for outdoor installations. All Bosch products are designed to help the consumer save money. You may think that these units because they are made by a big brand name, cost a lot of money to run but they don’t. An estimated cost to run the E and EO units are about $ 250 on an annual basis if you use Natural Gas. If you prefer Liquid Propane then it will run an estimated $ 355 because Liquid Propane does cost more than gas. But compare to other models and you will see a huge difference in cost than what you are paying now.

The Bosch AquaStar 2400E and the EO models have the same technical specs. If you are using Natural Gas your Power Input will be 35,000 to 175,000 Btu’s per hour.  If you are using Liquid Propane your Power Input will be 31,000 to 175,000 Btu’s per hour. With each unit you will get 6 gallons per minute. That means that if you have a 2-bathroom home with 2 showers, you can have both showers going at the same time. The 2400E and EO are Direct Vent Room Sealed Combustion; this helps with the energy efficiency of the water heaters.

The Energy Factor for using Natural Gas is .80 and for Liquid Propane the energy factor is .86%. The Thermal Efficiency Rating is 87% for Natural Gas and 86% for Liquid Propane. These are competitive energy rating specs. Do some research and you will see that these ratings are some of the best in the business. Remember to compare them to a water heater that will allow you to run 2 showers at once. It may be hard to find.

These units are very compact in size they measure 23-1/2″ in height, 15-3/4″ in width and 8-1/2″: in diameter. The E indoor units can be installed where there is very limited space available. The outdoor EO model is slightly bigger measuring in at 26″ in height, 15-3/4″ in width and 8-1/2″ in diameter. Both units have 120 Volt electronic plug ins.

The E and the EO models have an energy efficiency of 87% with Natural Gas and with Liquid Propane the energy rating is 86%. The 2400EO Model has a freeze protection to about 5 degrees Fahrenheit. If you choose the EO model there is no vent piping needed to install. There are some great accessories for the 2400E and EO Model Water Heaters; one of those required accessories is the AQ3, which is a Horizontal Vent Kit for the 2400E only.

This kit is required when you are venting horizontally through the wall. The AQ3 is constructed with the best high-grade materials. The parts are fully assembled when you get them for easy installation.  With the E and EO models you can get the Wireless Remote Thermostat (TSTAT2). You can easily control the output temperature of your water heater with a digital controller. This will also save you money because you set the temps, so you can control how much energy and hot water you want to use.
