  3. My girlfriend has a LEDV Series direct vent oil fired boiler that keeps shutting down.
It has a Becket Model AFG oil burner. She has the temp set at 64 degrees but each day when she returns home she has to reset the green light because it is flashing and sometimes the light isn’t on at all . After rresetting it runs fine and gets up to temp.
Any ideas that you can suggest? Her tank is outside and she uses a blend mixture for winter.

    Thanks in advance

  4. My dad is looking for information on assembly of the Flame Retention Head for the Burnham V74 furnace. He specifically needs to know how far back the F head sits into air tube. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

  5. i have a beckett AF 15 burner and need to know if my pump is bad on the burner. i’ve changed the nossle and strianer and it keeps giving me issues. it will fire up but you can hear a sound coming from where the pump is,it will run for about 10 min and then stop and try to relight then gose into lockout. how would i know if the pump is bad?

  6. Eric:
My direct vent oil burner (beckett burner) will not fire up in very cold temps (around 15F). It spits and sputters like a clogged nozzle then shuts down.
I’ve had the installers make at least 20+ service calls in the last 2 winters and still no answers. I can disconnect the outside air intake ducting and it runs fine except then it stinks like raw fuel. This is bad technology in cold climates. I hate to say it but this might have to get settled in court because the heating company has stopped cooperating.

  7. I have a v-7 series burnham oil fired boiler. It was installed by previous owner.During the last 2 winters, when the temps were the coldest of the season,at times it would not restart on it’s own.I would go into the basement, and see the reset button lighted, and it will always restart.I had service come and check, never find a problem.I’m thinking maybe looking at a reliable brand, any opinions?-cpereira2@cox.net

  8. My heater just stopped working and it uses a Beckett Moedel AF RWB oil burner. I think that it just needs to be cleaned. Does anyone know how to clean the oil filter or oil pump? I’d appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks!

    • Hi Jane,

It’s probably more affordable to just call an oil burner tech. The time you buy all the tools, parts etc. Unless of course you are in a super remote location with no burner guys, then you might want to DIY. Your beckett will have an inline fuel filter and there is also a screen / filter at the pump on the actual unit.

The boiler tech can also adjust the flame for you, will in turn will save you money on fuel.

Let me know if you have any more questions or need more help.

      Happy Holidays

      Joseph

  9. We are a General Contractor, we had a sub contractor install a fuel oil heating system, that has a loop fuel system. Which has a buried fuel tank outside, then a in line booster pump, filter, check valve, then the fuel is lifted approx. 15′ and pushed in two directions in the supply line. This feeds Two unit heaters to the right and a hot water boiler, forced air furnace, and two unit heaters to the right. The problem is the unit heaters to the left and right will not run, and now the forced air furnace isn’t running. We have had two different heating contractors out and no one can figure out why the system is failing.

  10. P.S. These are Sterling unit heaters, UH 84 with Beckett burners, model A,AF Serial # 070827-74012, 84,000 BTU’s. Sterling serial # AR565467

  11. I have a 5 year old furnace with the Beckett AF burner. My question is; is there any lubrication points on this unit that need to be maintained? My visual inspection does not find any.
