Bathtub Is Not Draining

You can remove hair from your bathtub drain with a few different methods. You can use a snake to remove all the hair from the bathtub drain, You can also use a coat hanger to remove the hair from your drain as well but a small hand snake will of course work the best. You will need to remove the tube trip lever plate and then feed the snake down the tub trip lever and twist and few times to gather the hair onto the snake tip. Bathtub Is Not Draining

Once you have twisted the snake a few times you will want to pull the snake from the trip lever and then try your bathtub drain again to see if the water is now draining like it should. If you have snaked the bathtub drain a few times and nothing else is being caught by the snake and your bathtub still drains slowly you may have a clogged bathtub trap.

How To Unclog The Bath Tub Trap

If you have already tried to snake out the clog in your bathtub trip lever and your tub is still clogged then you might need to also unclog the P trap. You can do this in one of two different ways. You can get a larger snake which often has a motor on it to help force the snake through t he stoppage or you can remove the bathtub P trap and remove the stoppage by hand. If you have a tub on the first floor of your home and you have a basement then you will be able to access the trap or the trap clean out nut. If your bathtub is on the second floor and you have no access to the trap then you will have to use the first method to unclog the tub drain.
