You may think that you can look through some samples and then just choose a very pretty design. But there is more to it, there are some steps that you have to go through before you are ready to have your new above ground swimming pool liner installed.
There are so many choices when it comes to the above ground swimming pool liner that you think it will be an easy choice to make. Simply choose a pattern and hire a company to come and install it. If you have ever changed a swimming pool liner before then you know there is more details and more choices that have to be made. Let’s take a look at some of the steps that have to be made when it comes to choosing an above ground swimming pool liner.
The first thing that has to be done is to decide what type of swimming pool liner that youhave. There are a few different styles such as the Beaded Liner, J Hook, the Overlap and the Expandable Pool Liners. Let’s take a look at what the difference is in each above ground swimming pool liner.
Overlap Liner:The Overlap Pool Liners are liners that simply hang over the sides of the swimming pool. The liner is purposely made with extra material so it will fit perfectly over an above ground swimming pool either 48″ or 52″ in height. The overlap of the pool liner is held down and secured with the Swimming Pool Coping Strip that will hold your liner in place. Then if you choose to the excess liner is cut from the swimming pool.
Beaded Pool Liner:The Beaded Above ground Swimming Pool Liner works by snapping into a bead receiver or channels into the top of the swimming pool wall. These liners are specific to the swimming pools at about 48″ or 52″.
J Hook or UniBeaded Pool Liners: The UniBeaded or J Hook Liners are made specifically for the size of the swimming pool you have. If you have a swimming pool that is 48″ then the liner must be 48″, there is no extra material like in the overlap liners.
Expandable Pool Liners: The Expandable Above Ground Swimming Pool Liner are the liners that are used for deeper depth above ground swimming pools such as Doughboy. These liners can fit swimming pools that are 72″ deep.
Once I Choose a Liner Style I like what is the next step?
You will need to figure out what you want to spend on the liner and what gauge or thickness you want your liner to be. You may need some help with this so talk to your local swimming pool supply store or ask a professional liner installer to explain the differences in the gauge and if it means you have to use a certain style of liner and if it will affect the price of the liner. The most common gauges of swimming pool liners are 20 gauges and 25 gauges.
Can I choose any design I want?
Yes, if you are choosing to use a professional swimming pool company to install the liner then they have only a limited selection of liners but you can always ask the company if you buy the liner from a pool supply store if they will install it. Most companies are accommodating but you have to remember that your measurements have to be correct so make sure that the liner company does the measuring. There are so many different styles of liners out these days; it used to be when there were only those solid blue liners that came with the pool. But today there are styles like the Atlantis, Under The Sea, Dolfina and Boulders. If you search online you can find many more great styles of liners. If you have a specific liner that you want ask your pool company of they can get that for you.
